Italic calligraphy - Seven Mondays starting April 18 – June 6 (No class May 30) 6:30 – 8:30
Introduction to the background and historic context of the italic letterforms, based on 14th century lettering. Learn the concepts of proportion and spacing. Learn and practice upper and lowercase letters. Experiment with materials – pens, paper and inks.

Re- locating!

I'm very excited to announce that after 16 years at 26 Main Street I will be moving into a new space with Sprigs Flowers, still on Main Street at # 442. We are looking forward to a larger, more convenient space still in this quaint town. We are slated to open early April. and will have a grand opening in May.

This was a big one! 1300 invitations for Bishop Hendricken's Fashion Show fundraiser. I did all the assembly- lining the envelopes, gluing the layers and affixing the band and seal. Whew- !

Winter class schedule

We are offering one lettering class and one Zentangle class for this session

7 weeks – Mondays starting February 7th ( no class Feb 21st)
6:30-8:30 pm

Learn the basic strokes of the graceful 14th century Italic hand, both upper and lowercase.
We will work on some simple projects as well as experimenting with materials.
Cost - $155 ( includes all materials and handouts) plus $25 if a pen is needed

One session- Thursday, February 1oth, 6:30-9

Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle class

Well it has been a while since I posted - hard to figure out where to spend one's self-promoting time, Facebook seems to be the way,but it's a little too too. Anyway - Susan Lehman, certified Zentangle teacher will be teaching a class in my home studio in North Kingstown on Tuesday, November 30th. . The Uncial Hand
Mondays – 5 classes starting March 15th, 6:30 – 8:30
course fee - $105 plus $20 for pen if needed

The Italic Hand
Tuesdays – 7 classes starting March 2nd, 6:30-8:30
Class fee - $145 Plus 420 if a pen is needed

The Art of Zentangle
One session, choice of Thursday, March 18th or Thursday March 25th
6:30-8;30 Class fee - $35, includes materials

Exhibit in Newport

Just dropped of a piece for an exhibit- "Lines of Inspiration" - A line of Poetry that inspires a creative expression in another medium. January 2, 2010 - January 31, 2010 at the Spring Bull Gallery on Bellevue Ave. in Newport. opening reception Saturday, Jan. 2nd from 5-7. I'm anxious to see other artists' interpretations!

Main street Strolls

Upcoming craft shows

A couple of dates - November 28th I will be at the Viking Hotel in Newport for a holiday show. Mu friend Elissa Barr and I will be featuring hand painted and personalized holiday ornaments, hand crafted stationery and cards as well as matteed and framed calligraphic quotes.

December 4th and 5th we will be at the courthouse Center fort the Arts on Rte 138 in West Kingston
